Setting up your homepage
Setting up your homepage
Your home page is the first thing many customers see. Wise comes with a fully built home page, so the quickest way to get started is to keep its structure and replace the demo images, text and products with your own. This guide lists the sections it ships with and shows you how to make it yours.
What the home page ships with
When you open the Home page template in the theme editor, you see these sections, in this order:
- Image banner: a large hero image with a heading and buttons.
- Scrolling icon with text, a Scrolling text banner: a moving strip of short messages with icons.
- Metrics banner: key numbers about your brand.
- Editorial: a large banner with product cards below it.
- Editorial: a second editorial section, hidden by default. Click the eye icon to show it.
- Scroll fill text: a large statement that fills with color as customers scroll.
- Product benefits: one image with short benefits placed around it.
- Collection list: links to your collections.
- Editorial: a banner with image grids and text, like a magazine page.
- Testimonial video reels: short videos with customer quotes.
- Slideshow: rotating slides.
- Grid view: a row of image tiles with text on top.
- Button, a Rich text section with a button.
- Orbit carousel: portrait images on a curved arc that turns from slide to slide.
- Expert testimonial: a quote from an expert.
- Brands: logos of brands or press.
- Parallax section: images that move at different speeds as customers scroll.
- Blog posts: your latest articles.
- Image with collapsible menu, an Image with text section: an image next to collapsible rows, for example FAQs.
- Newsletter with image: a newsletter sign-up form.
Above and below these sections you also see the header group (Announcement bar and Header) and the footer group (Features banner and Footer). Those are shared by every page.
Some sections in the sidebar carry a custom name, for example Button or Image with collapsible menu. That name describes what the section shows. The links above lead to the article for the section type.
Make it yours

- Click Add section to add more sections, and drag sections to change their order.
- Click Save.
Tips for a first setup
- Swap content before you delete: See each section with your own images and text before you decide to remove it.
- Start with the hero: The Image banner at the top has the biggest impact. To let it run behind a see-through header, see Making the header transparent.
- Keep it focused: You do not have to use all 20 sections. A shorter home page with strong content often works better.
- Check mobile: Switch to the mobile preview in the top bar. Many sections have separate mobile settings.
- Use the section presets: Many sections can be added in several versions, called presets. See How sections and blocks work in Wise.
